Wholebrainer?

It is well known that different skills are associated with two halves of our brains:

People tend to think that they favour one side of their brains to the other, and as a result assume they are either a right brain or a left brain thinker.

However history has shown us that the greatest minds, from Leonardo Da Vinci to Einstein have had a synergy between their left/right brain hemispheres; in essence they were wholebrainers!

Both sides of your brain do not operate separately from each other, they need to work as a whole to be the most effective, and by stimulating both sides of your brain you will be able to enhance:

•your ability to think better

•remember more

•recall information easier and quicker

Wholebrainer designs and runs workshops that engage students and teachers in discovering effective personal learning strategies, in an engaging and refreshing context.

Our courses are designed to help both students and teachers to explore the use of simple and effective techniques that can be applied across the school curriculum to enhance learning and engagement.

In doing so, we help children to understand their own minds, to improve the left-brain/right-brain balance- and to become “wholebrainers”.

At Wholebrainer, we believe that children from all backgrounds have the right to reach their full potential, and that the only way to bring this about is to find new and effective ways of engaging with them, to make sure that they enjoy the ride.

Whereas it was once possible during school years to teach students the knowledge they needed in order to succeed in later life, this is no longer the case.  We are living in changing times- knowledge and technology are expanding at an exponential rate.  We face the challenge of needing to train young students to excel at jobs that don’t yet exist, using technology that hasn’t yet been invented.  Indeed, the world is changing so quickly that what students learn during their school years may become obsolete by the time they are entering the workplace.

So, how can schools prepare the children of today to be the great thinkers and achievers of the Information Age?

At Wholebrainer, we believe that one way in which this can be achieved is through a focus on learning styles and strategies that work for each individual, and can be applied across the curriculum.  We use techniques developed from our roots in NLP, and our experience in adult and commercial environments, to design courses that enhance the core strengths of teachers and students.
